Drawing and painting from landscape encourages me to seek out visual patterns and anomalies, subtlety, and drama, shifts in light that color the atmosphere, textures enlivening forms, revealing shifts in the wind, and other forces. It reminds me to pay attention and notice the beauty and strangeness in the everyday.
